Circle 8's job application forms used a passive "Submit" button, creating psychological resistance for candidates. This generic, instruction-based CTA failed to give users a sense of ownership over their decision to apply. In the competitive talent market, reducing friction in the application process was critical to capturing more qualified professionals seeking their next opportunity.
Psychological CRO Autonomy-Driven CTAs

The challenge
The solution
We applied psychological CRO principles focused on autonomy. Our hypothesis: rewriting the CTA from passive "Submit" to the autonomy-driven "I want this job" would give users control over their decision. This first-person language creates ownership and reduces psychological resistance. We launched an A/B test to measure the impact on form completion rates across Circle 8's job application flow.

THE IMPACT WE MADE
The results validated our hypothesis: form completion rate increased by 7.5% with 94.8% statistical confidence that the variant outperformed control. The simple CTA change—rooted in behavioral psychology—drove measurable conversion improvement. By giving candidates autonomy through first-person language, Circle 8 now captures more applications from qualified professionals with minimal development effort.
