The assignment
Spelt offers afvalcontainers (waste containers) all across the Netherlands. But even though they had a handy online wizard to help users pick the right container, it just wasn’t getting the maximum results that we wanted. Too many people got stuck choosing between all the options (what type, what size, what’s the difference?). The result: lost conversions and missed revenue.
They asked us to step in and rethink the whole experience. The goal? Help users make decisions faster and with more confidence. We mapped out a better structure, built a new wizard, launched it, and kept optimizing based on real usage data.

We didn’t just tweak a few buttons—we rebuilt the entire flow from scratch, making sure every step felt simple and clear.
Designed a new UX structure with clearer questions and more guidance
Implemented the full wizard including integrations
Tested everything post-launch to find friction points
Used real usage data after one month to improve the flow even further
Think: smarter logic, cleaner UI, and less stress for the user. Choosing a container went from “ugh, what do I need?” to “ah, got it - added to cart.”
